Delete my account

Your right: you can delete your Travel With Me account at any time, no reason required, no fees. It's a right guaranteed by GDPR and COPPA.
1. Two ways to delete your account
📱 Method 1 — From inside the app (recommended)
- Open the Travel With Me app
- Go to Settings (icon at the bottom right)
- Select My account
- Scroll down to Delete my account
- Enter your parental PIN to confirm
- Confirm one last time
Immediate step: you'll be logged out automatically. A confirmation email will be sent.
✉️ Method 2 — By email
Send your request to:
contact@travel-with-me.app
Include in your email:
- The email address on your account (for identification)
- An explicit request for deletion
We process requests within 72 business hours. If you don't get a confirmation within 72 hours, please follow up.
2. What will be deleted
When you delete your account, the following is permanently erased:
- Your parent account (email, profile)
- All associated child profiles
- The history of every conversation with Ody
- All your trips (itineraries, educational modules)
- Travel journals (photos, notes, drawings)
- Generated keepsake books
- Badges and scales collected
- Your usage preferences
⚠️ Warning: deletion is final and irreversible. If you want to keep your keepsake books, remember to download them as PDFs before deleting your account.
3. Deletion timeline
- Immediately: your account is deactivated, no further login possible
- Within 7 days: your data is erased from the production database
- Within 30 days: all backup copies are purged
- Within 90 days: full deletion at our subprocessors (Supabase, Anthropic, OpenAI)
4. Retained data (legal obligations)
By law, certain data may be kept longer:
- Invoices and payment history: 10 years (Commercial Code)
- Anonymized technical logs: 6 months (network security)
- Data related to ongoing sanctions: until resolved
This data isn't used for any other purpose and stays strictly confidential.
5. Managing your subscription
Deleting your Travel With Me account does not automatically cancel your App Store or Google Play subscription. You need to:
- iOS: go to Settings → Your name → Subscriptions → Travel With Me → Cancel
- Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Cancel
If you request deletion by email, we also cancel your subscription on the RevenueCat side — but Apple or Google may still ask you to take action.
6. What if I only need to delete one child?
You can delete a specific child profile without deleting your parent account:
- Settings → Children
- Select the child concerned
- Delete this profile
This erases all data for that child, but keeps your parent account, the other children, and your subscription.
7. Export your data before deletion
Before deleting your account, you can export all your data in digital format:
- Settings → My account → Export my data
- You'll receive an email with a download link (JSON + PDFs of keepsake books)
- Link valid for 7 days
